The Marga and Walter Boll Laboratory for Cardiac Tissue Engineering is grateful for the trust and financial support of private foundations, academic partners, and public research funders, whose backing makes the work possible.
The Marga-and-Walter-Boll-Laboratory for Cardiac Tissue Engineering was established with the support of the Marga and Walter Boll Stiftung (Kerpen, Germany) and is situated at the Center for Physiology and Pathophysiology of the Medical Faculty, University of Cologne.
Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and organotypic cells differentiated from hiPSCs are the focus of the lab’s research projects. The team works across several areas related to iPS cell technologies including, but not limited to, cardiac tissue engineering, cardiac organoids, cardiac cell therapy, cardiac diseases, stem cell biotechnology, and biomaterial research.
Building my research career from my days as a doctoral student until today has become possible only through the support of private foundations, which have given me their trust and the funds that enabled me to test new ideas. I thankfully acknowledge their contributions.
